As you pass through the Welcome Gate at the top of the driveway, you are transported into another world, time and place. A covered balcony overlooking a private garden provides an outdoor haven for guests seeking relaxation and quiet conversation.

Upon entering, furnishings rich in texture and an eclectic collection of artwork and artifacts from around the world echo the beauty and elegant simplicity of Globetrotters B&B. The Great Room is the perfect place to daydream, curl up with a novel beside the fireplace, listen to your favourite music CD, enjoy each other's company or watch your favourite program and movies on satellite TV.

THE GLOBETROTTERS LIBRARY
Warmth and comfort envelop you in this sanctuary filled with books and magazines that spark a traveller's imagination. This private nook is a favourite among guests who wish to spend time reading up on the news of the day over a fresh cup of coffee or tea or planning their next trip to some far corner of the world. There is also a computer on site for Internet and email access.

In accordance with town bylaws, on certain dates, the number of occupants in Le Moulin Rouge or Sultan's Tent suites may be limited to two or three persons.

Person(s) booking a room must be at least 21 years of age. To ensure the comfort of other guests, children under the age of 6 cannot be accommodated unless the entire B&B is booked by your group.

If you are booking one room for a party of three or four, please check with us directly to verify whether any occupancy limitations apply for the date(s) you wish to book.

A minimum 2-night stay applies to weekend bookings May 15-Oct 31.

NOTE TO GOLFERS/EARLY DEPARTURES:
Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Arrangements must be made with the chef prior to arrival if you wish to be served breakfast before 8:30 a.m. Continental breakfast only is served prior to 8:00 a.m. and no breakfast service is available before 7:30 a.m.

Delicious full breakfasts are served daily between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. in our bright breakfast room where you are surrounded by artwork or, if you prefer and weather permitting, outside on our covered veranda overlooking our private garden.

For openers, enjoy a continental plate of seasonal fresh fruits from around the world and yoghurt, home-baked croissants and your favourite cereal, followed by an artistically presented hot breakfast special of the day, all served with fresh juice and tea or coffee.

Bringing more than 15 years of international experience in the hotel and cruise industry to the breakfast table, Fernando prepares dishes that delight all your senses. Be sure to bring a hearty appetite -- and your camera -- to breakfast.

We realize we may not be for everyone. Fernando prepares one hot dish daily for everyone, be it pancakes, crepes, waffles or a variety of egg dishes some of which may be served with sauces or may include cheese. As a result, we may not be suitable for: vegetarians, vegans, lactose-intollerant, people with nut, milk or wheat allergies, diabetics. Please check with us before booking to discuss your particular dietary restrictions or preferences. Our heartfelt aim is to delight the senses, please the palate and ensure a memorable experience for all of our guests. If we are not for you, perhaps we can recommend a more suitable property.

American guests as well as Canadians intending to visit the United States are advised to carry valid passports with them for presentation at border crossings. If you are travelling by road and do not possess a valid passport, photo ID showing a residence address plus a birth certificate is the minimum that should be carried when crossing the international border. All visitors planning to travel from Canada to the U.S.A. BY AIR now require valid passports.

FROM TORONTO:
Follow the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) toward Niagara. Once across the Garden City Skyway at St. Catharines, take the Niagara-on-the-Lake exit (38B). Merge onto Glendale and proceed through the first traffic light to the second traffic light at York Road (from here, The Shaw is signposted.) Turn LEFT onto York Road, then RIGHT onto Airport Road at the next set of traffic lights. Follow Airport Road through the first stop sign (marker: a totem pole on your left) for about 5 minutes to the second stop sign at Highway 55 (also known as Niagara Stone Road and eventually Mississauga Street). Turn RIGHT onto Highway 55 and drive for 10-15 minutes past Hillebrand Winery, through the town of Virgil, past McDonalds and Jackson-Triggs Winery towards Niagara-on-the-Lake. After you pass Jackson-Triggs Winery, there is a small dip in the road and at the top of the hill, turn RIGHT onto the first street ã Anderson Lane ã then LEFT at the Library, and RIGHT on Simcoe Street. Proceed past Karsam to Victoria, turn LEFT on Victoria and then immediately into the first driveway on your RIGHT and youêve arrived. Come in through the –Welcome” gate at the top of the driveway to the right of the garage.

FROM WINDSOR/DETROIT:
Take Highways 401 and 403 to Hamilton, Ontario, and join the QEW toward Niagara. Then follow the same route as the traffic from Toronto above.

FROM NEW YORK, OHIO OR PENNSYLVANIA: Cross the Niagara River into Canada at Buffalo, at Niagara Falls, or at Lewiston, NY. Take the QEW to Exit 38. Turn RIGHT onto Glendale at the traffic light and proceed to the next traffic light at York Road (from here, The Shaw is signposted.) Turn LEFT onto York Road, then RIGHT onto Airport Road at the next set of traffic lights. Follow Airport Road through the first stop sign (thereês a totem pole on your left) for about 5 minutes to the second stop sign at Highway 55 (also known as Niagara Stone Road and eventually Mississauga Street). An alternative route is to take the Niagara River Parkway from Niagara Falls or from Lewiston-Queenston Bridge to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Those who already know this route should note that the exit from the bridge directly onto the Niagara Parkway is closed. Proceed to the exit for Stanley Road, and follow the Niagara-on-the-Lake signs along Portage Road to the roundabout at the Niagara Parkway, keeping the Niagara River on your right. Shortly after the McFarland Teahouse on the right and Riverbend Inn on the left, turn LEFT on John St. and proceed to Victoria Street. Turn LEFT on Victoria and continue all the way up to Simcoe Street. Our driveway is the last one on your LEFT just before the stop sign at Simcoe.

Description: Playfully romantic, Le Moulin Rouge suite is draped in elegant gold, orange and red silk saris and sizzles with a romantic queen-size wrought-iron canopy bed wrapped in 100% cotton sheets, all topped with a silk duvet and luxurious tasseled silk pillows and a one-of-a-kind silk bed cover. A daybed in the main room and a trundle bed in a smaller adjacent room make this a great choice for families of three or four. The private three-piece ensuite (in-room) bathroom in this suite features shower and bathtub facilities. In addition to central air-conditioning, this suite also features a separate window air-conditioning unit for your additional comfort on hot summer nights. Description: The Sultan's Tent suite exudes a combination of warmth and a sense of adventure with its queen-size bed draped in 100% cotton sheets topped with a silk duvet and bed cover. The queen-bed room opens up to a second room featuring two single beds. Shimmering, elegant floor-to-ceiling curtains and bed canopies throughout the suite add an element of whimsy to the décor. This two-room suite accommodates up to four occupants. The suite's private ensuite (in-room) three-piece ensuite bathroom features a walk-in shower stall (no bathtub). In addition to central air-conditioning, this suite includes a separate air-conditioning window unit in the queen bed room and a ceiling fan in the twin bed room. All windows open to allow fresh breezes fill the rooms and ensuite washroom.

Description: For guests who travel on their own or who have trouble negotiating stairs, this 10x11-foot room (plus private ensuite bathroom) is conveniently located on the ground floor of our B&B. Elegantly decked out in 100% cotton sheets topped by a luxurious one-of-a-kind silk comforter and pillows, the peaceful tones in the Crystal Palace echo the delicate hues of nature just before sunset. Awash in a sea of tranquility, guests relax in a queen-size bed graced by a one-of-a-kind headboard featuring an original work of art by Jane Hall. In addition to central air conditioning, this room includes a ceiling fan and windows that open. There is also a table, boudoir chair and makeup mirror. This room's private three-piece ensuite bathroom features a walk-in shower stall (no bathtub). The maximum occupancy for this room is two persons. This room is blocked from January 1-April 30, 2009, however, if three guest rooms are required for your party, please call and, if it is available, we will open the room to accommodate you.
