Joe Krown - The Piano Professor

Joe Krown is world renouned for his New Orleans styled piano and Hammond B-3 playing. He has been nominated twice and won a 2000 New Orleans Big Easy Award in the Blues category. His trio with Johnny Sansone & John Fohl won a 2004 New Orleans Big Easy Award in the Blues category. His current All-Star trio with Walter Wolfman Washington and Russell Batiste Jr. won a 2009 New Orleans Big Easy Award in the Blues Category and a 2009 Offbeat Award for Best R&B/Funk Album. In April 2014, he was honored with a Piano Legacy Award, presented by the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and for being a `Master of Piano`.

Quiana Lynell

With a smile that will entrance you and a voice that helps your troubles disappear, Lynell’s vocal dexterity allows her to perform a limitless repertoire. Infusing her classical training with her gospel upbringing she approaches jazz as a storyteller.

Graduating from Louisiana State University’s music department Lynell is able to harness her voice as a true instrument and perform various genres of music with precision and validity. Lynell frequents the stage as a clinician, performer, arranger, bandleader and songwriter. As she has made her way through the music scene Lynell has shared the stage with headline jazz artists such as Herlin Riley, Roderick Paulin, Don Vappie, Mitchell Player and countless local artists and bands. Collaborating and creating lifelong experiences is a passion of Lynell’s, she has been a featured vocalist on various artist recordings. Lynell has performed with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra as the principle Soprano using the classical side of her voice and has performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival presenting traditional jazz music.

Tom Hook

Join us for the musical stylings of Tom Hook!
Multi talented pianist and singer, Tom Hook who co wrote and starred in the production of `Jump, Jive, and Wail, the music of Louis Prima at the National WW11 Museum theater.
Musician songwriter Tom Hook began his career in Kansas City Missouri, performing in local in regional jazz and rock bands, as well as working as a stage performer at Worlds of Fun theme park. He was a founding member of the New Red Onion Jazz Babies, a regional “trad” jazz favorite.

Shannon Powell Quartet

Shannon Powell is a highly sought after drummer and percussionist who has achieved international acclaim for his commanding technique and style, rooted in the characteristic funky drum beats of New Orleans.
From 1987 to 1992, Powell toured extensively with Harry Connick, Jr. and released two platinum albums with Connick including, `We Are in Love,` and `Blue Light Red Light.” He also recorded `Lofty's Roach Souffle` with Connick. During subsequent years, Powell has toured with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center, Marcus Roberts, Diana Krall, Dr. John, Earl King, and many many more.
Currently, he is a bandleader and has recorded his own CD, `Powell's Place,` which showcases a mix of traditional and original jazz songs and also features Powell on vocals. Powell is considered a leading force on the traditional jazz circuit and also serves as an educator and clinician. He has been featured at workshops presented at universities and jazz festivals all over the world.
Considered a living legend in New Orleans music, Shannon Powell is heralded as `The King of Treme,` the neighborhood where he grew up in New Orleans, which has given birth to countless musical inspirations and innovations.

Brass-A-Holics

Since 2010, the Brass-a-Holics have been taking their unique sound around the world. Steeped in the deep musical culture of New Orleans, the band brings a heavy dose of go-go funk to the New Orleans brass sound. In a blending of musical cultures stemming from cities separated by more than a thousand miles, a Brass-a-Holics live show takes the New Orleans brass band culture and infuses it with the electricity of Washington D.C.'s go-go. The resulting sound is both captivating and unique. The band consists of core New Orleans brass elements- trumpet, trombone, saxophone- and adds a full drum set, percussion, keyboard, bass and electric guitar, giving the band limitless options to explore new sonic territory. Whether performing their original music or using the framework of hit pop songs as springboards for fiery improvisations, there is something in the set to appeal to every music fan. The James Rivers Movement

New Orleans holds James Rivers in a special place in its heart. The multi-instrumentalist and composer grew up in New Orleans’ Sixth Ward and has performed regularly in the city for decades. He is known for his work as a session musician starting in the 1950s, helping Sam Cooke pen the finishing touches on “You Send Me,” and writing music for six Clint Eastwood films.

The Nayo Jones Experience

Nayo Jones debuted at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 2012 where she has appeared annually since then. Ms. Jones has opened for such greats as Chris Botti, Otis & the Temptations, The Whispers & Lakeside. In addition to her own show, Ms. Jones currently tours alongside New Orleans’ iconic jazz trumpeter, Kermit Ruffins. Though still a babe in the music industry she already has the savvy of some of the most classic female artists and has proven to be a force to be reckoned with.
Ms. Jones has an extraordinary ability to capture her audience and keep them in a trance every time she hits the stage. Nayo Jones continues to cherish those classic tunes she heard growing up and is committed to bringing back the “authenticity of music” each time she performs. Her fans have compared her to the likes of Natalie Cole, Roberta Flack and even Billie Holiday as she belts out tunes from jazz standards to adult R&B.

Nayo Jones is featured on the latest album release by Kermit Ruffins, #imsoneworleans. Her body of work also includes her first original album “My Name is Nayo Jones”, a “Holiday Collection” and her EP simply titled “Nayo”. Jones is currently in the studio working on her first Jazz album.
